General Election toolkit

Policy ideas to unlock growth

The CBI has created some helpful guidance around regulated activity and non-party campaigning which you can find here.

With the General Election fast approaching, it is imperative that the voice of hospitality is front and centre. Our job is to make sure the candidates understand your hospitality business.

There is expected to be a record number of new MPs in the new Parliament and we want them to be the hospitality sector’s champions. This relationship starts with you and your business.

We want as many political candidates to visit hospitality venues across the country as possible, as part of the General Election campaign and hear about the vital contribution our sector plays in their constituency. That is why we have put together this election toolkit to help you get your voice heard.

On this page, you will find information about how you to write to all (or some) of your local candidates highlighting the importance of hospitality to their local patch.

And it will help you invite candidates to visit your business if you would like to do that.

You will also find briefing documents including UKHospitality’s agenda for government which sets out the contribution that we make to the country, and our two-page summary on our policy ideas to unlock growth.

Finally, UKHospitality members will also be able to access our General Election webinars, where the UKHospitality team take a deep dive into the key moments and events from the General Election and what it means for you and your business.
